SaltEdge is a FinTech Startup with offices in Toronto, Chisinau, and London. The company has built a Financial API Platform for PSD2 and Open Banking, aiming to innovate the financial sector and create an open financial marketplace based on APIs.

SaltEdge was created in 2013 by a Moldovan and a Canadian founders, raised $3M of initial investment and managed to acquire a variety of customers, from big ones as Societe Generale, ING, BBVA, to smaller but well-known fintech startups such as MeetCleo, GetChip, Seedly, Spendee, MoneyWiz, etc.

The team consists of 65 team members - engineers, data scientists, compliance experts, information security specialists, user experience specialists, as well as marketing and business development managers. Job responsibilities:

  • Develop, in cooperation with the relevant stakeholders, internal compliance policies and procedures, review and amend as needed current compliance documents;
  • Manage and oversee compliance issues within the company, ensure company’s staff is made aware of and complies with applicable internal policies and procedures;
  • Evaluate the internal compliance controls implemented by the company and align them as necessary to the updated compliance policies and procedures;
  • Draft, revise and adapt as necessary company’s terms of service, privacy policy and similar legal site documents in order to conform with applicable laws;
  • Proactively participate in negotiations with company’s clients/partners on contract terms and cooperation agreements (through email, phone and, occasionally, face-to-face meetings abroad);
  • Work closely with sales team on negotiating custom agreement terms with company’s clients;
  • Represent company’s interests and ensure they are accurately reflected in the formal agreements;
  • Conduct KYC, due diligence and other legal research (on specific matters relating to company's business operations in different jurisdictions);
  • File and maintain a log of formal agreements with third parties (clients, partners, etc.);
  • Manage all legal related queries received by the company and, if necessary, coordinate with company’s senior management before submitting official replies.

Job requirements:

  • Legal background is an advantage;
  • Basic knowledge of Information Technology or FinTech is a plus;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in drafting, managing, and negotiating contracts in English language;
  • Knowledge of commercial contract drafting principles and ability to negotiate with customers and vendors;
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks quickly, accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment under strict deadlines;
  • Logical thinking and strategic mindset;
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
