Founded in Toronto in 2013, the company has acquired a large client base ranging from large banks (ING, BBVA, Societe Generale, etc.) to fintech startups (Yolt, Cleo, Chip, Oval Money, etc).

Salt Edge has a clear vision to establish a dominant position as an Open Banking provider globally. Currently, the company is experiencing a rapid growth and traction and is looking to expand to other regions, including EMEA, Asia & Pacific, and Americas.

Summary of the role and main responsibilities

As a result of continued growth, Salt Edge is now looking to recruit a senior commercial executive to drive new business revenue with a focus on the UK B2B market. This individual will be positioned as an expert in Open Banking and the transformation that financial institutions are currently going through. The person will be responsible for building and managing the local team, finding business opportunities and driving new revenue streams from different types of clients (third party providers, banks, lending institutions, credit bureaus, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as Salt Edge’s senior representative on the UK market, build a network of clients and partners, and contribute to successfully positioning Salt Edge as leader of Open Banking technologies;
  • Recruit, lead, coach and develop a world class commercial operations out of London, initially covering lead-generation, sales and account management;
  • Encourage a culture of teamwork, openness and hard work through strong performance management;
  • Efficiently collaborate across in-house departments such as operations, product, marketing, sales, legal and others to grow UK revenue and brand awareness;
  • Focus on short-term strategy while maintaining and developing the vision for long-term success of the company in the UK market;
  • Create and manage the reporting framework in order to meet company goals, improve sales process metrics and KPIs;
  • Create new business opportunities and generate sales across a wide range of customers, and manage sales processes and commercial negotiations together with other central functions in Salt Edge;
  • Manage complex multi-stakeholder enterprise sales processes: engage with senior decision makers in financial companies, educate them on product features and benefits, advise on national legal requirements and Open Banking, negotiate and close large deals;
  • Analyse commercial results, market developments and customer needs to identify new business opportunities as well as potential improvements on products, technology, and internal operational models;
  • Become an industry expert and position yourself as an advisor for our clients;
  • Participate and represent the company at relevant events, conferences business meetings in the field of FinTech / RegTech to promote Salt Edge brand and solutions.

Job requirements:

  • 7+ years of successful experience in sales, business development, sales management or consulting, with at least 3 years in the financial services industry;
  • Solid interest and understanding of the business opportunities within Open Banking and the changing banking and financial ecosystem;
  • Extensive and very active network within the UK’s digital banking and Fintech ecosystems;
  • A continuous track record of achieving ambitious sales or billing targets;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a consultative approach towards acquiring new business leads;
  • Significant experience in the development and management of indirect sales channels to include strategic alliances and value added resellers;
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining executive level relationships with senior executives within the banking ecosystem, and ability to build lasting partnerships;
  • Deep knowledge and experience managing workforce planning, recruiting, performance management and training in a high growth environment;
  • The ability and predisposition to work collaboratively with the Salt Edge executive staff, technical architects and engineers, and ability to share marketplace feedback to ensure that the product and solutions are correctly attuned to the financial marketplace;
  • A persona that exudes experience-based confidence that enables to present and sell products and services to “C” level decision makers, and particularly to CEO, CTO, etc.;
  • Hands-on mentality, ability to balance long-term strategic initiatives with operations and execution;
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, focused and excellent in time management;
  • University Degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science or related discipline;
  • Willingness to travel.
